ParticipantHi
There’s no guidelines I know of. If the nurse hysteroscopist is in a training post in your hospital then as long as the job description covers the training the insurance should be covered by the hospital. Please check it out with the HR department.
Justin Clark is giving a talk on training in Hysteroscopy 27/11/24 on a bsge webinar

ParticipantWe have lite optics but only one. This only gets used very occasionally. There is a company Shultz I think that have just made an extra length alphascope but again these are easily damaged. Storz are robust it’s maybe worth trialling the new scope they have on the market

ParticipantHi our secretary does these calls, she checks if they are on any anti coagulation and if so a medical member phoned them back. She asks if they got the information leaflet and reminds them about analgesia. She then checks they can attend the given appointment. This has really helped the dna rate. Also picked out the ones the referrer forgot to mention anti coagulation on. The only thing we could improve is a question around mobility and weight as we have had a coupling which would have been more suited to theatre given these factors. Hope this helps

ParticipantSorry for late reply there’s loads of single use graspers on the market but they are expensive. Try Shultz medical they should be able to give you a price. Liz Bruen can maybe also help here? They are normally good quality. Hope this helps. Best wishes Caroline

ParticipantHi Louise, we have a mixture of scopes, we use alpha scope and biopsy forceps or biopsy cups too. We also use omni scopes for operative procedures. We use lite optics for the bigger bmi ladies. Hope this helps. Best wishes Caroline

ParticipantHi Tina the logbook can be found on the nurses page. Bsge recommends you attend the operative workshop which includes theory and practical then following this complete the logbook in house.

ParticipantWe just monitor ours, all equipment gets checked as it’s coming out of sterilising packaging. We only replace if broken or I guess if it was starting to show signs of wear. Our cssd are really good and also send back not fit for use if there are any problems.
Single use are also available we stock some of these too in case all graspers are out. Hope this helps
Best wishes
